Mason is now a Four Year Old! He has been wanting to be 4 since he turned 3. He was so excited to have his birthday.
On his birthday, Tyler decided to take all 3 of the boys camping. It would be the last chance to go camping for the year. A friend from Tyler's work has a boat and so they all decided to go to Strawberry. I dropped them off at Tyler's work and they loaded up the truck and boat and left.
I was a little sad not spending Mason's birthday with him, but I knew he was going to have a good time. Tyler said that Mason told him that was his best birthday he's ever had.It left me with time to get his presents ready, and clean the house for his party and most importantly make his cake. We were doing a Buzz Light year theme. I'd found a picture of a cake that I was going to do. It didn't look too hard. I've made some pretty cool birthday cakes.
Well this one was a mess. The cake was so crumbly and I thought I had more cakes in my pantry, so I had to use a yellow and a chocolate. They both were falling apart. Every time I would cut, big chunks would come off and so I said forget it and I started frosting. That was even worse. I was getting so frustrated. I was by myself and yelling at this cake. I had bought two of the huge cartons of frosting and I was almost finished with both of them and I hadn't even covered the cake. It was a totally disaster. I finally decided to just say, oh well, it's just going to have to be the ugliest cake I've ever done. The boys didn't even know what it was when they got home. How sad is that?
Tyler was wondering why I even took any pictures of it. But I told him, I had to. It was his birthday cake.
So here is the embarrassing cake. Don't judge me on this. ;)When the boys got home from Camping they all rested while I finished getting everything ready and making the cake that we were going to actually eat. That turned out really good, so I don't know what my problem was with the other cake.
All of our family came over and Mason opened all of his presents and played with his cousins.Happy Birthday Mas. You have grown up so much this past year. You are getting so big and we are so proud of you. Love you tons!
